Abstract

Tehnološki napredak i sve veća potražnja za električnom energijom doveli su do razvoja učinkovitijih načina iskorištavanja obnovljivih izvora; jedan od takvih je energija vjetra. U ovom radu prikazan je pregled supravodljive tehnologije te istraživanje primjena supravodiča u konstrukciji generatora od 10 MW za vjetroturbinu. U programu Ansys Motor-CAD napravljen je dizajn supravodljivog generatora, kao i sinkronog generatora sa permanentnim magnetima (SGPM) te su analizirana i uspoređena svojstva strojeva. Rezultati simulacija pokazuju da supravodljivi generator ima gotovo četiri puta manju masu i duplo manji promjer stroja u odnosu na SGPM, a pritom zadržava korisnost od preko 99%. Ovi rezultati upućuju na to da bi supravodljiva tehnologija mogla postati standardom za konstrukciju električnih strojeva koji zahtijevaju veliku snagu uz visoku korisnost i male dimenzije.

Abstract (english)

Technological advancements and the increasing demand for electricity have led to the development of more efficient methods of use of renewable sources like wind energy, thus driving the need for advancements in construction of wind power plants. This paper presents an overview of the superconducting technology and investigates the application of superconductors in the design of a 10 MW wind turbine generator. A design of a superconducting as well as a synchronous generator with permanent magnets (SGPM) was created using Ansys Motor-CAD software and the properties of the machines were analyzed and compared. Simulation results show that the superconducting generator has one fourth of the mass and half the machine diameter compared to the SGPM, while maintaining an efficiency of over 99%. These results suggest that superconducting technology could become the standard for the construction of electric machines that require high power, high efficiency, and small dimensions.
