Abstract

Uslijed ubrzanog razvoja računalne tehnologije, a time i digitalnog načina obrade zvuka, danas pomoću DAW programskih okružja i pripadnih dodataka možemo stvoriti zvuk produkcijski visoke kvalitete. U tu svrhu, razvijeno je više vrsta sinteze od kojih su najpopularnije subtraktivna, aditivna, wavetable, FM i granularna. Kao osnova svakog sintetizatora služimo se elementima poput raznovrsnih oscilatora, generatora envelope, filtara, pojačala te vanjskih kontrolnih jedinica.
U sklopu praktičnog dijela rada, zadatak je bio izrada subtraktivnog sintetizatora sa navedenim elementima te mogućnošću MIDI povezivanja i kontrole. Sintetizator je izveden u programskim paketima Matlab i Flowstone, testiran u DAW okružju Steinberg Cubase i Presonus Studio One te je u potpunosti ispravan sa svim funkcionalnostima.

Abstract (english)

Due to the rapid development of computer technology, and thus the digital sound processing, today using DAW software environment and related accessories we can create high quality sound. For this purpose a number of different types of synthesis were developed of which the most popular are subtractive, additive, wavetable, FM and granular. The basis of every synthesizer are elements such as various oscillators, envelope generators, filters, amplifiers and external control units.

As the part of the practical assignment, the task was to develop subtractive synthesizer with the aforementioned elements and the possibility of MIDI connectivity and control. Softsynth was developed using MATLAB and Flowstone, tested in Steinberg Cubase and Presonus Studio One and is fully functional.
