Abstract

Predviđanje potrošnje električne energije po satima je problem koji se može opisati kao sekvencijski jer se radi o nizovima potrošnje energije izmjerenima u razmacima od jednog sata. Upravo takvu problematiku sekvencijskih skupova podataka rješavaju modeli dubokog učenja bazirani na povratnim neuronskim mrežama. Kako u običnim povratnim neuronskim mrežama postoji problem otežanog korištenja dugoročne memorije, konstruirani su modeli ćelija s dugoročnim pamćenjem (engl. LSTM). Takav model na temelju i dugoročne i radne memorije radi predviđanja budućih podataka. Model korišten u implementaciji sadrži tri LSTM sloja i jedan potpuno povezani izlazni sloj te predviđa podatke potrošnje energije kroz zimske mjesece za svaki sat između 8 sati ujutro i 22 sata navečer. Podatci korišteni u implementaciji su prikupljeni s područja Sjevernog Illinoisa (Sjedinjene Američke Države) u rasponu od šest godina. Model primijenjen na skupu za testiranje je dao rezultate s gubitkom od samo 2,79%. Može se zaključiti da model odlično funkcionira na testnom skupu podataka, no kakav bi bio za podatke u budućnosti, ne može se znati. Kao i za svaki model, može se samo pretpostaviti da će dobro predviđati jer su u skupu za treniranje obuhvaćeni podatci za koje se vjeruje da posjeduju svojstvo reprezentativnosti.

Abstract (english)

Forecasting hourly electricity consumption is a problem that can be described as sequential because it is a time series of energy consumption measured at equal intervals of one hour. Exactly such problems of sequential data sets are solved by deep learning models based on recurrent neural networks. As there is a problem of difficult use of long-term memory in ordinary reverse neural networks, models of cells with long short-term memory (LSTM) have been constructed. Such a model is based on both long-term and working memory to predict future data. The model used in the implementation consists of three LSTM layers and one fully connected output layer and predicts energy consumption data through the winter months for each hour between 8 am and 10 pm. Data used in the implementation was collected from the area of Northern Illinois (United States) over a period of six years. The model applied to the test set yielded results with a loss of only 2.79%. It can be concluded that the model works great on a testing set, but what it would be like for data in the future cannot be known. As with any model, one can only assume that it will predict well because the training set includes data that are believed to possess the property of representativeness.
