Abstract

Tema ovog rada je analiza NoSQL baza podataka koje se koriste u društvenim mrežama. U tu svrhu implementirana je društvena mreža koja omogućuje korisnicima stvaranje prijateljstava, dodavanje fotografija i reagiranje na objave prijatelja. Na temelju analize odabrane su baze podataka koje će se koristiti prilikom implementacije sustava. Jedan od glavnih faktora uzetih u obzir prilikom donošenja odluke je velika količina podataka koju je potrebno na pravi način pohraniti i s njima rukovati kako bi bile što bolje performanse. Baze koje su se pokazale kao najučinkovitije za rukovanje ovako velikom količinom podataka su Cassandra i Neo4J. Cassandra je korištena za pohranu podataka o korisnicima, fotografijama, komentarima, reakcijama, a Neo4J baza podataka korištena je za pohranu veza između korisnika.

Abstract (english)

This theses is about analysis of NoSQL databases that are used in Social Networks. A Social Network that allows users to add other users as friends, add photos and respond to friend's photos has been implemented. Based on analysis, the choice about which database is going to be used in implementation of this system has been made. The main factor in making decision is big amount of data that needs to be stored in the right way to have good performances while dealing with it. Databases that turned out to have best performaces for handling such large amount of data are Cassandra and Neo4J. Cassandra has been used to store data about users, photos, comments, user's reactions and Neo4J has been used to store relationships between users.
