Abstract
Ovaj rad služi kao opširna analiza novog W3C standarda, formata WebAssembly. Nakon uvoda u temu i objašnjenja načina rada i razvijanja programske potpore korištenjem ove tehnologije, razvijene su dvije koncept aplikacije. Prva aplikacija služi kao prikaz korištenja postojećeg naslijeđenog koda prevedenog u WebAssembly unutar preglednika. Druga je demonstracija implementacije korištenjem knjižnice koja nije u jednakoj mjeri dostupna u JavaScriptu. Sljedeći fokus rada detaljna je analiza performansi WebAssemblyja u odnosu na JavaScript. Konačno osvrnulo se na sigurnost i na moguće zlonamjerne uporabe ovog formata.
Abstract (english)
This paper serves as an extensive analysis of the new W3C standard, the WebAssembly format. After an introduction to the topic and an explanation of the way WebAssembly works and how to develop using the technology, two concept applications were developed. The first serves as a display of using an existing legacy code compiled to WebAssembly in the browser. The second is a demonstration of an implementation using a library that is not equally available in JavaScript. The next focus of the paper is a detailed analysis of the performance of WebAssembly in relation to JavaScript. Finally, security and possible malicious uses of the format were addressed.
