Abstract

Tema ovog rada je testiranje programske podrške s naglaskom na praktičnu primjenu testiranja robusnosti sustava. Rad je podijeljen u tri dijela. U prvom dijelu je teoretski obrađen proces testiranja. Pojašnjeno je što je to testiranje i zašto se provodi, koje sve vrste i pristupi testiranju postoje i u kojim se situacijama primjenjuju. Isto tako, dan je teorijski opis telekomunikacijskih mreža. Drugi se dio rada bavi opisom opreme koja se koristi u pristupnim mrežama; hardver pod testom, softver pod testom, i softver koji se koristi za testiranje ispravnog rada istih. U trećem dijelu rada je pokazan praktični primjer testiranja robusnosti napravljen u kompaniji Ericsson. Koristeći Ericssonov automatizirani testni alat testirana je programska podrška za bazne stanice telekomunikacijske platforme. Detaljno su opisani provedeni koraci te dobiveni rezultati. Na kraju su komentirani zaključci nastali na temelju rezultata.

Abstract (english)

The topic of this thesis is sofware testing, specifically in regards to practical testing of system robustness. This work is split into three parts. The first part covers the theory behind the testing process. Testing is defined and why it is done, what types of testing are there and when are they applied. Also, a theoretical background to communication networks is given. The second part goes into describing the equipment used in access networks; hardware and software under test, as well as software used for testing. The third part shows a practical example of robustness testing made in Ericsson. Using Ericsson's automated test tool, software support for radio base stations was put under test. A description of the methods used is given, as well as the results. Finally, a commentary was given based on the results provided.
