Abstract

Kontinuirani razvoj tehnologije doprinosi poboljšanju svih aspekata života ljudi. Jedna od najbrže razvojno rastućih tehnologija današnjice svakako su telekomunikacije. Kroz posljednjih par desetaka godina napredak je i više nego očit – od uspostave prvog telefonskog poziva do mogućnosti komuniciranja s bilo kim (ili čim) u bilo kojem trenutku. U ovom radu dan je pregled razvoja 5G mrežne tehnologije, kako s tehnološkog tako i sa standardizacijskog aspekta. Prikazani su izazovi implementacije 5G mreža te utjecaj istih na mrežne operatore, pružatelje infrastrukture i regulatore. S obzirom na potonje, bilo je neizbježno spomenuti mrežnu neutralnost koja je jedno od gorućih pitanja korištenja 5G tehnologije. Zaključno je opisano kako je i sam razvoj standarda još u tijeku, pa samim time i tehnoloških rješenja 5G mreža, ali i kako je bitno svim dionicima tržišta fokusirati se na 5G tehnologiju u nadolazećim vremenima. Abstract (english)

Continuous development of technology contributes to the improvement of all aspects of people's lives. One of the fastest growing technologies of today is certainly telecommunications. Over the last few decades, progress has been more than obvious - from making the first phone call to being able to communicate with anyone (or anything) at any time. More an extremely large number of new types of services, and thus the impact on the entire global industry and the transition to the long-awaited Industry 4.0. This paper provides an overview of the development of 5G network technology, both in terms of technology and standardization. The challenges of implementing 5G networks and their impact on network operators, infrastructure providers and regulators are presented. Given the latter, it was inevitable to mention net neutrality which is one of the burning issues of using 5G technology. In conclusion, it was described that the development of standards is still underway, and thus the technological solutions of 5G networks, but also how important it is for all market participants to focus on 5G technology in the coming times.
