Abstract

Bežične mreže danas su jedne od najrasprostranjenijih mreža u svijetu za prijenos podataka. Pomoću njih se prenose podaci i višemedijski sadržaji, a koriste se u privatne, poslovne i druge svrhe. Zbog svoje rasprostranjenosti podložne su raznim oblicima napada i zlouporabe pa je tako u literaturi moguće naći više primjera napada, posebice na autentifikaciju u mrežama prema normi 802.11x. Specijalistički rad obuhvaća povijest i razvoj bežičnih mreža te objašnjava standarde i razlike između bežičnih mreža IEEE 802.11x (IEEE 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n, 802.11ac). Naglasak rada je na sigurnosnim mehanizmima u takvim mrežama, te se obrađuju vrste šifriranja (WEP, WPA, WPA2) i mehanizmi autentifikacije. U praktičnom dijelu rada demonstrirani su odabrani napadi na mehanizme autentifikacije te se objašnjavaju mehanizmi obrane od tih napada.

Abstract (english)

Wireless networks today are one of the most widespread networks for data transmission in the world. They are used for the transfer of data and multimedia content for private, business and other purposes. Due to their prevalence, they are subjected to various forms of attacks and abuse, the examples of which are available in the literature, especially with regard to authentication in networks according to the 802.11x standard. The specialist thesis explains the history and development of wireless networks, and the standards and differences among IEEE 802.11x wireless networks (IEEE 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n, 802.11ac). The paper focuses on security mechanisms in such networks, and discusses the types of encryption (WEP, WPA, WPA2) and authentication mechanisms. The second part of the thesis analyses a selection of attacks on authentication mechanisms, and defence mechanisms against them.
