Abstract

Senzori čine neizostavan dio većine kompleksnijih sustava bez kojih ne bismo mogli zamisliti normalno funkcioniranje određenih procesa. Dobivene podatke sa senzora potrebno je efikasno i sigurno pohraniti u baze podataka, a trebaju biti na raspolaganju klijentima u stvarnom vremenu. Relacijske baze podataka (npr. PostgreSQL) nude vrlo intuitivan i strogo shematski organiziran način pohrane, dok nerelacijske baze podataka (npr. MongoDB) omogućuju pohranu bez previše potreba za projektiranjem te su pogodnije za spremanje velike količine podataka zbog brzine pristupa i obavljanja upita nad bazom.

Praktični dio rada prikazuje primjer sustava za pohranu senzorskih podataka. Na Waspmote uređaju i štitu Gases PRO v3 spojeni su senzori za mjerenje atmosferskih parametara koji periodično šalju izmjerene koncentracije. Te koncentracije pročitane su od strane programa napisanog u Javi i poslane u svaku od baza podataka.

Abstract (english)

Sensors are an essential part of most complex systems. Without them we can`t even imagine a normal functioning of certain processes. It is necessary to store the data obtained from the sensors efficiently and securely into the databases. Still they have to be available in “real-time” to all clients. Relational databases (for example PostgreSQL) offer an intuitive and strictly schematically organized way of storing data. Non- relational databases (for example MongoDB) allow storing of data without too much requirement for designing and they are more suitable for storing a huge amount of data because of the accessing speed and the query for the database.

The practical part of the work shows an example of a system for storing sensor data. Sensors for monitoring atmospheric parameters are connected to Gases PRO v3 board and board is connected to Waspmote device. Sensors are sending measured concentrations periodically. Java program is reading sent concentrations from serial port and stores them into databases.
