Abstract

Ovaj rad opisuje oblikovanje programske podrške sintetizatora zvuka. Započinje s teorijskim pregledom najpoznatijih i najkorištenijih metoda sinteze zvuka iz prošlosti, te s pojašnjenjem osnova MIDI protokola pomoću kojega instrumenti međusobno komuniciraju. Zatim slijedi opis općenitih značajki sintetizatora i detaljan opis njegovog grafičkog korisničkog sučelja. Nakon toga slijedi poglavlje u kojemu se detaljno opisuje arhitektura sintetizatora, značajke njegovih sastavnica i metode sinteze zvučnog signala. Sljedeće poglavlje uspoređuje proizvedeni audio signal sintetizatora s audio signalom komercijalnog sintetizatora kako bi mogli uočiti potencijalne mane i nedostatke. U zaključku se osvrće na posljedice odabira programske paradigme i govori se o mogućem nastavku rada na sintetizatoru.

Abstract (english)

This paper describes the design of a software sound synthesizer. It begins with a theoretical overview of the most well-known and most used sound synthesis methods from the past, and explains the basics of the MIDI protocol through which instruments can interact with one another. The following chapter outlines a general description of the synthesizer and a detailed description of its graphical user interface. The subsequent chapter describes in detail the architecture of the synthesizer, its component features and the sound synthesis methods that it uses. The next section compares the produced audio signal of the synthesizer with the audio signal of a commercial synthesizer to detect potential flaws and shortcomings. In the conclusion we review the consequences of the chosen programming paradigm and talk about the possible continuation of the work on the synthesizer.
