Abstract

In this work, fingerprint image acquisition system based on Infineon Technologies FingerTIP sensor is presented. Parts of the system that are necessary for the system functionality are explained, including the fingerprint recognition technique overview. General explanation of biometrics, needed for better understanding of the area where such systems are implemented is given. Basic comparison of the majority of the biometric technique efficiency is provided in order to determine convenience of the fingerprint recognition method. Two system integration possibilities of the named sensor are given. Explanations of the performed signal measurements of the control and data signals with results are presented. Images of typical fingerprints as well as the images of the fingerprints acquired under conditions where normal sensor operability is not possible are provided for the result accomplishment. Security, data protection and forgery issues has been discussed. Two methods for the fake finger detection with the bioimpedance measurement and with the pulse oximetry analysis are proposed.

Abstract (croatian)

U ovom radu opisan je sustav za prikupljanje slika otisaka prstiju temeljen na senzoru FingerTIP kompanije Infineon Technologies. Pojašnjeni su dijelovi koji su potrebni za funkcioniranje sustava uključujući i pregled metode raspoznavanja otisaka prstiju. Dano je i općenito pojašnjenje biometrike, što je potrebno za bolje razumijevanje područja gdje ovaj i njemu slični sustavi nalaze primjenu. Uspoređena je učinkovitosti većine biometričkih metoda radi određivanja stupnja primjenjivosti metode prepoznavanja otisaka prstiju. Opisane su dvije mogućnosti izrade sustava s imenovanim senzorom. Opisana su i objašnjena provedena mjerenja upravljačkih i podatkovnih signala i prikazani rezultati mjerenja. Slike tipičnih otisaka prstiju kao i slike otisaka prstiju prikupljene pod uvjetima gdje normalan rad senzora nije moguć prikazane su radi upotpunjavanja rezultata mjerenja. Analizirana su i pitanja sigurnosti, zaštite podataka i mogućnosti krivotvorenja. Predložene su dvije metode sprečavanja krivotvorenja otiska prsta: mjerenjem bioimpedancije i analizom udjela kisika u krvi mjerenjem na vršku prsta.
