Abstract

Razvoj pokretnih radiomreža ćelijske strukture je u svojoj drugoj 'produženoj' generaciji iznjedrio opću paketsku radio-uslugu. Zasnovanost na komutaciji paketa donijela je bolju iskoristivost postojećeg frekvencijskog pojasa i veću kompatibilnost sa javnim podatkovnim mrežama. Opća paketska radio-usluga se implementira u GSM radiomrežu i postaje njezin podsustav što zahtjeva nova sučelja, protokole i interaktivne procedure povezivanja i mobilnosti. Za maksimalnu eksploataciju GSM/GPRS radiomreže u raznolikom prometnom i zemljopisno-političkom okruženju potrebno je proučiti potrebe i želje aktivnih i potencijalnih korisnika, imati dobar uvid u postojeće tehnološke resurse i oprezno pristupiti radnim, kontrolnim i optimizacijskim parametrima koji su direktno vezani za mobilnost i kapacitet sustava. U radio-dijelu planiranja opće paketske radio-usluge se koriste programski alati koji omogućavaju kvalitetniju izvedbu frekvencijskih i ćelijskih planova te vrše prometne simulacije, računaju potrebiti kapacitet, predviđaju protočnost podataka u ekstremnim uvjetima i sl. Sve se to krajnjem korisniku prezentira u vidu kvalitete usluge i dodatnim mogućnostima.

Abstract (english)

Global Packet Radio Service came with second 'extended' generation of cell structured mobile networks. This packet-switched system has better use of existing frequency spectrum and wider compatibility with public land data networks then Global System for Mobile communications. Implementation of Global Packet Radio Service in Global System for Mobile communications demands new interfaces, protocols and interactive connection and mobility procedures. For maximum benefit from GSM/GPRS network in different geographic-political environment operators need to have user feedback, good handle with technological resources and careful optimization of base parameters that are directly connected with mobility and capacity. Planning tool for air interface is necessary for cell and frequency planning. It's capabilities include: calculating capacity for circuit-switch and packet-switch services, traffic simulation, predicting data rate in extreme conditions and so on. All above mentioned things customer or end user feels in Quality of service and supplementary services.
