Abstract

U magistarkom radu obrađene su inteligentne antene i njihova primjena u pokretnim komunikacijama. Dan je pregled sustava pokretnih komunikacija s njihovim najvažnijim karakteristikama. Prikazana ja osnovna ideja i moguće primjene inteligentnih antena. Obrađeni su uklopivost, uloga i značaj inteligentnih antena u sustavima pokretnih komunikacija. Detaljno je razrađena mogućnost povećanja kapacitet mreže i područja pokrivanja primjenom inteligentnih antena. Opisani su osnovni modeli prostornog radio-kanala koji su neophodni u procesu kreiranja i analize primjene inteligentnih antenskih sustava. Obrađena je teorija prostornog diverzitija i njegova primjena u inteligentnim antenskim sustavima u svrhu smanjenja utjecaja višestaznog rasprostiranja elektromagnetskih valova. Dan je pregled osnovnih algoritama za određivanje smjera dolaska elektromagnetskog vala te su uspoređene karakteristike navedenih algoritama.

Abstract (english)

This master’s thesis elaborates smart antennas in mobile communications. Mobile communication systems and their characteristics are presented. The main idea and possible applications of smart antennas are shown. Implementation and benefits of smart antennas in mobile communication systems are discussed. Range extension and capacity improvements are discussed in more detail. An overview of spatial radio-channel models is given because the knowledge of spatial radio-channel models is necessary for design and implementation analysis of smart antennas. Theory of spatial diversity and reducing of multipath propagation of electromagnetic waves is elaborated. An overview of various algorithms available for estimation of direction-of-arrival of an electromagnetic wave is presented, and mentioned algorithms are compared.
