Abstract

Ethernet pasivna optička mreža po svojoj prirodi pruža širokopojasne usluge korisnicima putem optičkih vlakana.
Optički linijski terminal (OLT), koji se nalazi u središnjem uredu, kontrolira protok podataka između optičkih mrežnih jedinica i vanjske mreže. Problem nastaje u uzlaznom smjeru protoka podataka, od optičke mrežne jedinice (ONU) prema linijskom terminalu jer ne mogu sve optičke jedinice u isto vrijeme slati podatke. Potrebno je napraviti vremensko multipleksiranje, tj. svakoj optičkoj jedinici dodijeliti vremenski interval u kojem može slati podatke. MPCP protokol nam daje podršku za provedbu algoritma za dinamičko dodijeljivanje propusnosti optičkim jedinicama. Cilj algoritma je smanjenje prosječnog kašnjenja paketa, odnosno povećanje efikasnosti mreže. IPACT se pokazao kao algoritam s odličnim rezultatima, nudeći disciplinske servise kao što su fixed, gated i limited servis.

Abstract (english)

Ethernet passive optical network provides a variety of broadband services to customers via optical fiber.
Optical line terminal, located in the central office, controls the flow of data between the optical network unit and the external network.
The problem occurs in the upstream direction of data flow from the optical unit to the line terminal because not all optical units at the same time are allowed to send data.
It is necessary to assign time interval to each optical unit by time multiplexing.
MPCP protocol gives us support for the implementation of the algorithm for dynamic bandwidth allocation. The goal of the algorithm is to reduce the average packet delay, and increase network efficiency.
IPACT proved to be an algorithm with excellent results, offering a disciplinary services such as fixed, gated and limited service.
