Abstract

Rad opisuje načine povezivanja namjenskih računala u raspodijeljene sustave temeljene na arhitekturi CORBA. Objašnjeni su problemi u stvaranju raspodijeljenog sustava te njegovom povezivanju s vanjskim svijetom s osobitim naglaskom na ostvarivanje mjernih i nadzornih sustava. Analizirani su trendovi porasta složenosti programske podrške te su predloženi modeli za izgradnju namjenske slike operacijskog sustava. Prvi model minimalne slike operacijskog sustava temeljen je na analizi zavisnosti komponenti koje čine operacijski sustav i njihovo uklanjanje iz slike. Model monolitne aplikacije svodi cjelokupnu programsku podršku na jedan proces i jezgru. Treći model zasniva se na integraciji CORBA poslužitelja u jezgru operacijskog sustava. Detaljno su obrađeni problemi povezivanja objekata u sklopu arhitekture CORBA kao i nužne komponente za izgradnju samostalnog poslužitelja. Objašnjena je implementacija predloženih modela upotrebom operacijskog sustava Linux. Iznesene su usporedbe potrebnih resursa za implementaciju predloženih modela.

Abstract (english)

Thesis describes interconnection of dedicated computers into distributed systems based on CORBA architecture. Problems related to creation of distributed system and interfacing with external inputs with special emphasis on design of measurement and control systems have been described. Trend of increasing software complexity has been analyzed and three distinct models for development of dedicated operating system image have been suggested. First model of minimal image is based on components dependency analysis and their exclusion from the operating system. Monolithic application model reduces complete software to one program and kernel. Third model is based on integration of CORBA server into the operating system kernel. The thesis discusses problem of object interconnection in CORBA as well as minimum set of components required to build standalone server. It describes implementation of proposed models by using Linux operating system. The comparison of results and required resources for proposed models has also been described.
