Abstract

Na prvi pogled suvremeni čovjek i ne vidi gdje su sve ugrađeni programski sustavi. Svi znamo da se velika i složena računala koriste u istraživačkim laboratorijima, ali ne pomišljamo da se ona nalaze gotovo u svakom kućanskom aparatu. Zbog učestale upotrebe računala i programskih sustava postaje sve važnija njihova kvaliteta. Jedna od najrasprostranjenijih i najšire prihvaćenih mjerila kvalitete programskih sustava je njihova pouzdanost. U radu su izložene sažete matematičke osnove teorije pouzdanosti i opširan pregled literature o matematičkim modelima za predviđanje pouzdanosti programskih sustava. Radnim primjerom pokazano je kako se matematički modeli koriste u praksi pri određivanju pouzdanosti. Opisano je kakav treba biti razvoj i kakvo treba biti testiranje da bi se proizvelo pouzdan programski sustav. Izložen je i problem procjene i postizanja zadovoljavajuće pouzdanosti kod velikih i složenih programskih sustava.

Abstract (english)

At the first glance we do not recognize all devices controlled by software systems. Usually, we believe that large-scale software systems are only used in some super computers used for space technology. But what we do not know is that our domestic devices, like washing machine, contains processor controlled by program code. Because of their more often use it is very important that we produce good quality software systems. Hot to measure quality? One of the most used attributes of software quality is its reliability. This thesis presents the basic mathematics of the reliability theory. Additionally, it lists various mathematical models for software reliability modeling. Case study shows how to use failure data and of the shelf applications to measure and predict software reliability. The key to build reliable software is control of the design and testing phases in the development project. Modern software products containing thousands of modules request special techniques to measure and deliver reliable product.
