Abstract

Rad se sastoji od dviju glavnih cjelina. Prva objašnjava osnovne pojmove i koncept skladišta podataka, objašnjava razliku između transakcijskih informacijskih sustava i sustava za potporu odlučivanju, te razloge za uvođenje skladišta podataka. Detaljno su opisane sve faze izgradnje skladišta podataka s naglaskom na tehnici dimenzijskog modeliranja i dizajnerskim rješenjima najčešćih problema tijekom modeliranja skladišta podataka.
Druga cjelina posvećena je primjeni teorijskih postavki iz prve cjeline. Opisano je skladište podataka izgrađeno na Hrvatskoj radioteleviziji koje je, između ostaloga, najviše namijenjeno boljem praćenju te analizi planiranih i ostvarenih troškova proizvodnje televizijskih emisija.

Abstract (english)

The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first one introduces the basic elements and the data warehouse concept, explains the difference between transactional support system and decision support system and reasons for building a data warehouse. The data warehouse lifecycle system is described in detail with special attention paid to dimensional modeling techniques and solutions to main problems encountered during data warehouse modeling phase.
The second part describes the real-life data warehouse built at Croatian Radio Television following the rules and principles described in the first part. The main purpose of this data warehouse, among many others, is comparing and analyzing planned and realized TV production costs.
