Abstract

U posljednjih par godina IoT polagano mijenja način na koji vodimo svoje svakodnevne
živote. Zbog pada cijena uređaja, ali i širokopojasnog internet pristupa, broj međusobno
povezanih uređaja svakim danom sve više raste. To uključuje sve uređaje kao što su
pametni telefoni, tableti, bežične slušalice, lampe, perilice za rublje i uglavnom svi ostali
uređaji. Ovo se također odnosi i na komponente unutar uređaja.
Većina tih uređaja imaju prikladnu aplikaciju kojom se može njima upravljati ili koja
obrađuje podatke koje ti uređaji šalju. Zbog toga potreba za IoT platformama sve više i
više raste. Korisnicima je potrebna platforma pomoću koje će na jednostavan način moći
izgraditi aplikaciju kojom će upravljati svojim uređajem ili pomoću koje će obrađivati
podatke koje IoT uređaji odašilju.
Velike kompanije kao što su Google i Microsoft su uvidjeli potrebu za tim te su svojim
platformama u oblaku omogućili korisnicima jednostavan način upravljanja uređajima i
obrade podataka.
Iako platforme u oblaku čine većinski dio platformi, hardware-ske i umrežavajuće
platforme sve više dolaze do izražaja.
Aplikacije razvijene u sklopu diplomskog rada prikazuje jednostavan slučaj korištenja
različitih platformi te, u drugoj aplikaciji, objedinjavanje korištenih platformi unutar
sustava SymbIoTe koji pripomaže pri interoperabilnosti platformi te pruža određen
sigurnosni mehanizam.

Abstract (english)

In the last couple of years, IoT has changed the way we are leading our everyday lives.
Low device cost and low broadband internet access cost has caused number of
interconnected devices to go higher every day. That includes devices like smartphones,
tablets, wireless headphones, lamps, washing machines and, basically, every other device.
This is also applied to components inside devices.
Most of those devices have an appropriate application that manage device or that can
process data that is sent by devices. All of that causes that IoT platforms are needed even
more. Users need platform that will help them easily develop an IoT application that will
manage their device or that will process data that is sent by their device.
Big companies like Google and Microsoft have seen the need for IoT platforms and, by
providing their IoT cloud based platforms, they allow users to easily manage their device
and process data.
Even though cloud based platforms are major part of today available platforms, hardware
and connectivity platforms are coming through every day.
Applications developed as a part of this thesis display simple use case of using different
platforms and, in second application, unification of different platforms under the SymbIoTe
system that assists in platform interoperability and provides certain security mechanism.
