Abstract

Manipulacija figurama robotom Baxter za igranje šaha sastoji se od povezivanja sa robotom Baxter u svrhu pomicanja šahovskih figura, te implementacija interaktivnog načina igre šah. Kako bi igra mogla započeti, od korisnika se očekuje da postavi figure na šahovsku ploču nadohvat ruke industrijskog robota Baxter te pokrene robot. Baxter robot ovisno o lokaciji šahovskih figura na ploči te poteza koji želi odigrati, izvršava premještanje figure. Za odabir idućeg poteza pri igranju šaha Baxter se služi šahovskim open source programom Stockfish. Vrlo bitno je napomenuti da je završni rad napravljen na način da je programski kod ponovo iskoristiv, primjerice vrlo je jednostavno iskoristiti implementaciju za igru šah na bilo kakav drugi robot, te je isto tako moguće upravo za Baxter robot iskoristiti kod za neke druge funkcionalnosti, koje podrazumijevaju premještanje objekata u prostoru.

Abstract (english)

The manipulation of chess pieces using Baxter robot for playing chess consists of connecting to the Baxter robot in order to move chess figures and implement a simple and interactive game of chess. In order for the game to start, users are expected to set up a chessboard within a hand's reach from the Baxter robot and launch the robot. Depending on the location of the chess figures on the chessboard and the moves that the robot wants to play, Baxter performs a pick and place for a specific chess figure. To choose the next move, Baxter uses the chess open source program Stockfish. It is very important to note that this bachelor's thesis is structured in such a way that the written Python code is reusable, meaning it is very easy to apply the implementation of a game of chess on a different robot, and it is also possible for the Baxter robot to use the code for actions involving picking and placing objects.
