Abstract

Pri planiranju turnira i izradi rasporeda utakmica koriste se kombinatorne strukture, kao
što su blok dizajni i latinski kvadrati. Također se u nekim posebnim primjenama koriste
i ortogonalni latinski kvadrati zajedno s teorijom konačnih polja. Rasporedi se često
mogu ciklički izraditi jednom kada postoji početni raspored utakmica. Kako bismo došli
do tog početnog rasporeda, tzv. startera, koristimo diferencijske skupove i diferencijske
sustave. Navedene strukture se koriste u aplikaciji za izradu rasporeda utakmica koja je
napravljena u sklopu ovog rada te su za nju implementirani algoritmi koji primjenjuju
objašnjenu teoriju.

Abstract (english)

Tournament planning and schedule design use combinatorial structures, namely block
designs and closely related to them, latin squares. Some specific cases use orthogonal
latin squares, and in order to define them, we need theory of finite fields. Schedules can
be easily cyclically obtained once we know games on the first day, i.e. a starter. In order
to get this starter we use difference sets and difference systems. Structures covered here
are used in the application that was developed for this thesis and algorithms that use
given theory were implemented in this application.
