Abstract

Ovaj završni rad istražuje suvremene alate za izgradnju filogenetskih stabala metodom maksimalne izglednosti, s posebnim naglaskom na IQ-TREE alat. Proučen je algoritam za brzo pronalaženje filogenetskih stabala i bootstrap za procjenu izglednosti grana. Rad uključuje vlastitu implementaciju algoritma za učinkovito pronalaženje filogenetskih stabala prema kriteriju maksimalne izglednosti u programskom jeziku C++ te usporedbu rezultata i vremena izvođenja s IQ-TREE rješenjem. Oba programska koda pokrenuta su nad istim skupovima podataka.

Abstract (english)

This thesis considers modern tools for constructing phylogenetic trees using the maximum likelihood method, with a special focus on the IQ-TREE tool. It examines the algorithm for fast inference of phylogenetic trees and the bootstrap method for assessing the likelihood of branches. The thesis includes a custom implementation of the algorithm for efficiently inferring phylogenetic trees according to the maximum likelihood criterion in the C++ programming language and compares the results and execution time with the IQ-TREE solution. Both programs were run on the same data sets.
