Abstract

Diplomski rad istražuje tradicionalne metode isporuke aplikacija, uvodi kontejnerizaciju kao moderan pristup i pruža, kroz praktičan primjer, smjernice kako upotrebljavati tehnologiju kontejnera u razvoju programske podrške. U prvom dijelu diplomskog rada proučava se tradicionalan način isporuke aplikacija na fizičke poslužitelje i virtualne strojeve. Također, se ukazuje na nedostatke ovih tradicionalnih načina isporuke te izazove s kojima se susreću razvojni timovi. U nastavku se bavi teorijskom obradom kontejnerizacije uz navođenje njenih slučaja uporabe i prednosti koje ona nudi. Nakon toga, rad se posvećuje specifičnim alatima za razvoj programske podrške te alatima koji omogućuju kontejnerizaciju iste. Na kraju, diplomski rad, kroz praktičan primjer, daje uvid u postupak razvoja kontejnerizirane aplikacije temeljene na arhitekturi mikroservisa te kako se ti mikroservisi mogu međusobno umrežiti kako bi aplikacija mogla besprijekorno funkcionirati.

Abstract (english)

This master's thesis explores traditional methods of application deployment, introduces containerisation as a modern approach, and provides practical guidelines for utilising container technology in software development. The first part of the thesis examines the traditional way of deploying the applications to physical servers and virtual machines, highlighting the limitations of these traditional deployment methods and the challenges faced by software development teams. It then delves into the theoretical treatment of containerisation, discussing its use cases and the advantages it offers. Subsequently, the thesis focuses on specific tools for software development and tools that enable containerisation. Lastly, through a practical example, the thesis provides insights into the process of developing a containerized application based on microservices architecture and how these microservices can be interconnected to ensure seamless functionality of the application.
