Abstract

Noise je moderan radni okvir za izgradnju kriptografskih protokola baziranih na Diffie-Hellman razmjeni ključeva. Pruža dobru stabilnu jezgru koju korisnici nadopunjavaju kombiniranjem osnovnih kriptografskih operacija da bi dobili različita sigurnosna svojstva. Na taj način korisnici više ne moraju graditi protokole od nule, a protokoli koje naprave imaju samo one mogućnosti koje im trebaju.
Njegov potencijal prepoznaje sve više tvrtki. WhatsApp, WireGuard, Nebula, The Lightning Network i I2P su samo neki od poznatijih projekata.
U ovom radu će se opisati kako napraviti jednostavan Wireshark dodatak koji može prepoznavati Noise Pipes razmjenu ključeva u WhatsApp komunikaciji između klijenta i poslužitelja.

Abstract (english)

Noise is a modern framework for building cryptographic protocols based on Diffie-Hellman key exchange. It provides a good foundation on which users can build on by combining a set of basic cryptographic operations to obtain different security properties.
This has two big advantages: users do not have to create new protocols from scratch, and it allows creating protocols with exactly those capabilities which users need.
Many companies started to recognize its potential. WhatsApp, WireGuard, Slack Nebula project, The Lightning Network, and I2P are just a couple of the more known projects.
This thesis will explore how to write a Wireshark plugin that will recognize Noise Pipes key exchange in a WhatsApp client-server communication.
