Abstract

Kontinuiranim razvitkom tehnologije neprekidno se povećava potreba za što većim kapacitetom prijenosa podataka u što manjem vremenskom okviru. Pasivne optičke mreže koriste razne tehnike dodjele širine pojasa, a jedna od najpoznatijih je tehnika dinamičke raspodjele propusnosti (DBA). Dan je pregled pasivnih optičkih mreža i analiza karakteristika IPACT protokola za dinamičku dodjelu kapaciteta linka, postiziva podatkovna brzina i kašnjenje u uzlaznom smjeru komunikacije. Prva cjelina daje pregled pasivnih optičkih mreža, dok se druga cjelina bavi uvodom u DBA, tj njegovom podlogom. Treća cjelina uvodi u DBA i daje kratak pregled. Četvrta cjelina ide još više u dubinu obrađujući protokol IPACT i formule za izračune širina pojasa kao i samog kašnjenja. Naposlijetku, peta cjelina sadrži konkretne izračune i komentare vezane uz dobivene rezultate.

Abstract (english)

With the continuous development of technology, the need for as much data transmission capacity as possible in the shortest possible time is constantly increasing. Passive optical networks use a variety of bandwidth allocation techniques, and one of the most well-known is dynamic bandwidth allocation (DBA). An overview of passive optical networks and an analysis of the characteristics of the IPACT protocol for the dynamic allocation of link capacity, achievable data rate and delay in the upward direction of communication are given. The first section provides an overview of passive optical networks, while the second section deals with the introduction to the DBA, ie its background. The third section introduces the DBA and gives a brief overview. The fourth section goes even deeper into processing the IPACT protocol and formulas for calculating bandwidth as well as the delay itself. Finally, the fifth section contains specific calculations and comments related to the results obtained.
