Abstract

Ovaj rad sadržava analizu i rezultate testiranja upotrebe UWB senzora u određivanju relativnog položaja objekta u prostorima malih dimenzija. Svrha analize je procjena mogućnosti korištenja UWB senzora za detektore metala nove generacije u humanitarnom razminiranju. Kod takvih detektora potrebno je znati položaj glave detektora u prostoru. UWB je bežična tehnologija koja može raditi s vrlo malim gustoćama snage pri komunikaciji visoke brzine prijenosa podataka na kratkim udaljenostima. UWB sustavi nude izvrsnu otpornost na smetnje od drugih postojećih signala, dok u isto vrijeme uzrokuju minimalne smetnje tim signalima. Također, zbog niskih spektralnih gustoća snaga signala, stvaraju se puno manje smetnje signalima drugih postojećih radiofrekvencijskih sustava. Pri mjerenju relativne pozicije objekta na prostoru unutar 1 m², preciznost mjerenih rezultata upada unutar polja od 25 cm² ali točnost izmjerene pozicije može odstupati i do 10 cm od stvarne. Korišteni algoritam za mjerenje udaljenosti je TOF bez sinkronizacije, a izračun pozicije objekta u 2D prostoru ostvaren je metodom trilateracije.

Abstract (english)

In this thesis we analyse the applicability of UWB sensors to determination of the relative position of an object inside small dimension areas. The purpose of the analysis is to assess the possibilities of using UWB sensors for the new generation metal detectors in humanitarian demining of mine fields. In such detectors, it is necessary to know the position of the sensors head. UWB is a wireless technology that can operate with very low power densities while communicating with high-speed data transfer over short distances. UWB systems offer excellent immunity to interference from other existing signals, while also causing minimum interference to these signals. Also, due to its low power spectral density, much smaller interference to the signals of other existing or co-operating RF systems are produced. When measuring the relative position within the 1 m² area, resolution is less than 25 cm² but the accuracy of the measured positions may vary up to 10 cm from the actual position. Synchronization-free TOF algorithm is used to measure distances and the trilateration method is used to calculate the position of an object in 2D space.
