Abstract
U ovom radu opisani su osnovni matematički postupci vezani uz Reed-Mullerove kodove s naglaskom na Reed-Mullerove kodove prvog reda. Opisan je postupak njihove konstrukcije, kodiranja i dekodiranja kodnih riječi iz perspektive teorije informacije te su dani konkretni primjeri kako bi shvaćanje tih postupaka bilo intuitivnije. Kako bi se primjena Reed-Mullerovih kodova pokazala u praksi izgrađena je aplikacija za dopisivanje kojom se poruke kodiraju Reed-Mullerovim kodom RM(1,5), zatim simulira komunikacijski kanal nasumičnom generacijom grešaka nad izmjenjivanim porukama, a primljene se poruke zatim dekodiraju kako bi se greške uklonile.
Abstract (english)
This thesis explains the mathematical foundation of Reed-Muller error correcting codes, mainly focusing on first order Reed-Muller codes. In the introduction we explain the basic motivation behind their purpose. The thesis goes on to explain, from the perspective of information theory, the process of constructing the code from chosen parameters along with the encoding and decoding processes of its codewords. Specific examples are provided to help with understanding the described processes. To demonstrate their practical use, a real time messaging application implementing the Reed-Muller code RM(1,5) to encode the messages was built. Errors are randomly generated along the sent messages and then decoded by their receiver.
