Abstract

Rad opisuje motivaciju uvođenja spremnika, najpoznatiju platformu za korištenje
spremnika Docker te njezine osnovne elemente. Opisane su arhitekture i motivacije
uvođenja platformi Kubernetes i OpenShift te njihove glavne razlike. Razrađene su
mogućnosti instalacije platforme OpenShift te je prikazan primjer instalacije na oblačnom
servisu Microsoft Azure. Prikazano je korištenje osnovnih objekata platforme te su opisane
prednosti i mane korištenja istih. Objašnjeno je kada korištenje platforme ima smisla i
vrijednost te koje su prednosti i mane platforme.

Abstract (english)

The thesis describes the motivation for the introduction of containers, the most famous
platform for using containers, Docker, and its essential elements. The architectures and
motivations of the Kubernetes and OpenShift platforms and their main differences are
described. The possibilities of installing the OpenShift platform have been explained, and
an example of installation on the Microsoft Azure cloud service is presented. The use of
the basic objects of the platform is presented and the advantages and disadvantages of
using them are described. It is explained when the use of the platform makes sense and its
value, and the advantages and disadvantages of the platform.
