Abstract

Nadzorom u računalnim mrežama obuhvaćeni su brojni alati i procesi koji pomažu pri mrežnom upravljanju kako bi se smanjile potencijalne greške, opterećenje, spor odziv ili kako bi se povećala njena sigurnost. Jedna takva aplikacija, kojoj je cilj u svim navedenim aspektima postići veću učinkovitost, je i ComWAN. Radi na principu komunikacije sa nadzornim sustavom Zabbix koji preko svojih brojnih mehanizama, među kojima se najviše ističe protokol SNMP, sakuplja podatke sa raznih mrežnih entiteta i iste dojavljuje aplikaciji. Korisnik aplikacije, najčešće mrežni administrator, u slučaju bilo kakve neželjene situacije može reagirati i na taj način osigurati nastavak pravilnog rada mreže. Modul aplikacije, na kojem je temeljen čitav ovaj rad, jest Inventory zadužen za pohranu najvažnijih informacija vezanih za konkretne uređaje i mrežu općenito.

Abstract (english)

Monitoring in computer networks encompasses a number of tools and procedures that assist in network management to reduce potential errors, workload, slow response, or to increase its security. One such application, which aims to achieve greater efficiency in all these aspects, is ComWAN. It works by communicating with the monitoring system Zabbix which, through its numerous mechanisms including SNMP protocol, collects data from different network entities and than publishes them to the application. Application user, most often a network administrator, can react to any unwanted situations and thus ensure the continuation of correct network operation. Application module, on which this paper is based, is Inventory module which is in charge of storing the most important information related to specific devices and the network in general.
