Abstract

Očuvanje okoliša je jedna od najvažnijih zadaća koje moderno društvo mora ispuniti. Jedan od bitnih aspekata zaštite okoliša je očuvanje šumskih područja. Šumski ekosustavi su kritična komponenta svjetske biološke raznolikosti jer mnoge šume imaju veću bioraznolikost od ostalih ekosustava. Udaljena mjerenja i automatska analiza zračnih fotografija su nezamjenjivi alati za praćenje ispunjenja te zadaće. Ovaj rad daje pregled trenutnih rješenja koja se mogu pronaći u literaturu te zatim predlaže rješenje temeljeno na dubokom učenju i računalnom vidu kako bi što točnije procijenio pošumljenost područja. Pripremljena je baza od 110 zračnih fotografija koje su ručno segmentirane. U radu je je opisana neuronska mreža za segmentaciju zračnih fotografija koja koristi U-net arhitekturu. Uz podjelu 70-30 na skupove za učenje i evaluaciju, dobivena je točnost od 85.79% na evaluacijskim primjerima.

Abstract (english)

Preserving the environment is one of the most important tasks that modern society must fulfill. One of the essential aspects of environmental protection is the preservation of forest areas. Forest ecosystems are a critical component of global biodiversity because many forests have greater biodiversity than other ecosystems. Remote measurements and automatic analysis of aerial photographs are indispensable tools for monitoring the fulfillment of this task. This thesis gives an overview of current solutions described in the literature and then it proposes a solution based on deep learning and computer vision to estimate the forestation of the area as accurately as possible. A database of 110 manually segmented aerial photographs was prepared. A neural network for segmentation of aerial photographs using U-net architecture was used for segmentation. With a split of 70-30 into learning and evaluation sets, the accuracy of 85.79% was obtained on the evaluation set.
