Abstract

Cilj magistarskog rada bilo je prikazati projektiranje radijske mreže za dugoročnu evoluciju mobilnih sustava treće generacije. Mobilni sustavi treće generacije zbog sve većih zahtjeva za povećanjem brzine prijenosa razvijali su se preko HSDPA sustava prema naprednim WCDMA sustavima. Sljedeći veliki korak u razvoju mobilnih mreža poznat je pod nazivom dugoročna evolucija mobilnih sustava treće generacije (LTE). Prednosti LTE tehnologije u odnosu na prethodne tehnologije su povećanje brzine... More prijenosa u silaznoj i uzlaznoj vezi, jednostavnija infrastruktura mreže, manje kašnjenje i veća spektralna učinkovitost. U radu je objašnjen postupak projektiranja radijske mreže za dugoročnu evoluciju mobilnih sustava treće generacije. Opisana je arhitektura sustava, strukture kanala, parametri modulacijskog postupka, tehnika višestrukog pristupa u silaznoj i uzlaznoj vezi te korištenje MIMO tehnike. Pomoću programske podrške za radijsko planiranje (TEMS Cell Planner alat) projektirana je LTE radijska mreža urbanog središta na bazi već postojeće 3G mreže. Kvalitetno radijsko planiranje uvelike smanjuje cijenu izgradnje mreže, a kako bi simulacije u TEMS Cell Planner alatu bile točne potrebno je podesiti propagacijski model. Propagacijski model podešavao se na način da su simulacije pokrivanja uspoređivane s mjerenjima na živoj mreži. Kada je propagacijski model točno podešen, pristupilo se daljnjem planiranju, koje je uključivalo simulacije performansi LTE mreže uz prometni zahtjev i određeni broj korisnika. Kvalitetno postavljanje projekta u alatu za ćelijsko planiranje, važno je ne samo za inicijalnu fazu izgradnje mreže već i za optimizaciju postojeće mreže. U slučaju povećanja prometa u mreži ili dodatnih zahtijeva od strane korisnika, operator dodatnim simulacijama na brz i jeftin način može procijeniti koliko je potrebno ulagati u izgradnju dodatnih baznih stanica te koliku razliku u pokrivanju, kvaliteti i brzini prijenosa time postiže. Alat za ćelijsko planiranje pomaže pri održavanju i optimizaciji LTE mreže, jer svaka promjena parametara na ćeliji može unijeti promjene u pokrivanju i performansama LTE mreže. Kvaliteta ćelijskog plana izravno će utjecati na brzinu i cijenu daljnjih ulaganja u mobilnu mrežu. Less

Abstract (english)

The objective of master's thesis was to show the radio network design for long-term evolution of third generation mobile systems. Third generation mobile systems due to increasing demands for throughput evolved over the HSDPA system to advanced WCDMA systems. The next major step in mobile development is known as long-term evolution of third generation mobile systems (LTE). The advantages of LTE technology over previous technologies are increased throughput in the DL and UL, simplified... More network infrastructure, shorter latency and greater spectral efficiency. The thesis explains the process of radio network design for long-term evolution of third generation mobile systems, including system architecture, structure of the channels, modulation process, and MIMO techniques. LTE Radio network design of urban center was made using the software for radio planning (TEMS Cell Planner). Good quality of radio network design greatly reduces the cost of building the network. It was necessary to adjust the propagation model to achieve accurate simulation in TEMS Cell Planner tool. Propagation model was calibrated in a way that the coverage simulations were compared with the measurements on the live network. When the propagation model was correctly set, next step was detailed planning which included a simulation of the performance of LTE networks with traffic demand and certain number of users. Precise set up of the project in cell planning tool is important not only for the initial phase of building the network but also for network optimization. In case of increasing traffic or any additional requirements by the subscribers, with additional simulations operator can in a quick and inexpensive way estimate how long it takes to invest in building of additional base stations and how much difference in coverage, quality and throughput will be achieved. Cell planning tool will help in maintaining and optimization of LTE network because each change on the cell parameters can influence coverage or performance of LTE network.
