Abstract

Stalnim razvojem mobilnih sustava operateri su suočeni s nužnošću optimalnog i kvalitetnog korištenja dodijeljenog frekvencijskog spektra. U radu su nakon kraćeg opisa osnovnih postavki zračnog sučelja, te GSM, GPRS i EDGE sustava kao i interferencijskih fenomena, detaljnije obrazložene različite metode smanjenja interferencijskog međudjelovanja radio dijela mobilnih mreža. Opisane su mogućnosti definirane specifikacijama i standardima te funkcionalnostima različitih proizvođača opreme. Posebice su opisane mogućnosti smanjenja interferencije koje nude različite postojeće metode frekvencijskog planiranja (planiranje korištenjem frekvencijskih grupa, automatsko frekvencijsko planiranje, MRP metoda, FLP metoda, dinamička OL/UL struktura i ostale hibridne metode) te ostale tek predložene metode za buduće sustave. Funkcionalnosti kontrole snage i nekontinuiranog odašiljanja nedvojbeno su važan element koji značajno pridonose optimizaciji kvalitete i kapaciteta mreža. Opisani su i relevantni postupci mjerenja, praćenja statistike i ključnih pokazatelja radio dijela mreže. Razvojni put radio dijela GSM/EGPRS mobilnih sustava uključuje i integraciju različitih metoda planiranja pokrivenosti signalom unutrašnjih prostora i korištenje dodatnog frekvencijskog pojasa te hijerarhijske strukture ćelija. Osim opisa osnovne funkcionalnosti određene metode i njenog utjecaja na sustav, poglavlja su popraćena adekvatnim primjerima i rezultatima, kao i osvrtom na postojeću literaturu koja obrađuje opisanu tematiku. Također su opisane planirane i tek predložene buduće aktivnosti u sklopu GERAN koncepta.

Abstract (english)

Following continuous development of mobile systems, existing mobile operators are focusing their activities for optimal and top quality usage of existing allocated frequency band. After short air interface description with basic GSM, GPRS and EDGE system survey, interference phenomenon and different interference reduction methods for mobile radio networks are presented. Technical specification possibilities with different vendor functionalities are described. Interference reduction method of existing frequency planning strategies are presented in details (frequency group planning, automatic frequency planning, MRP method, FLP method, dynamic OL/UL subcell structure and other combinations) together with newly suggested methods for future implementations. Power control and Discontinuous transmission are very important features contributing to network quality and capacity. Relevant radio network measurements procedures, statistics handlings and key performance indicators are also described. GSM/EGPRS mobile network evolution is including indoor solutions integration and dual band network implementation, with multiband cell or hierarchical cell structure approach. Together with theoretical functional description, chapters include appropriate examples and results with associated literature examination. Planned and recommended activities included in GERAN concept are briefly presented.
