Abstract

Doktorska disertacija istražuje mogućnosti primjene inteligentnih pokretnih agenata u sustavima za uravnoteženje opterećenja. Prikazan je opći model, osnovne komponente, kao i klasifikacijska shema metoda za uravnoteženje opterećenja. Obrađene su karakteristične metode koje su prikazane u slijedu od najjednostavnijih do najsloženijih, adaptivnih metoda. Istražena je primjena pokretnih agenata za poboljšanje sustava za uravnoteženje pri čemu se koriste kao prijenosnici opterećenja s čvora na... More čvor, kao trgovci i pregovarači koji pokušavaju "kupiti" ili "iznajmiti" resurse, te kao poveznici zainteresiranih strana u procesu uravnoteženja. Na osnovu postojećih rješenja i istraživanja karakteristika pokretnih agenata kreiran je model proširene uporabe pokretnih agenata sa više mogućih scenarija. Tako agenti mogu samostalno obavljati uravnoteženje ili samo prikupljati podatke za druge. Također, agenti mogu po potrebi instalirati programsku podršku na čvorove i tome ih osposobiti za prijem viška poslova s drugih čvorova. Model upravljanja uravnoteženjem opterećenja uporabom inteligentnih pokretnih agenata koristi inteligentnog agenta za praćenje rada metoda za uravnoteženje opterećenja. Agent prema pokazanim performansama metoda u fazi učenja odabire najprikladniju metodu za trenutne uvjete. Verifikacija modela provedena je simulatorom IUSTITIA koji je izveden na osnovi agentske platforme JADE. Metode su ispitivane u različitim uvjetima, uz postupno povećanje opterećenja, smanjenje mrežne propusnosti, povećanje kašnjenja u mreži, pri dolasku snopa poslova kao i u slučaju ispada čvora. Less

Abstract (english)

The thesis investigates possibilities of application of intelligent mobile agents in load balancing systems. The general model, main components and classification scheme of load balancing methods have been presented. Characteristic methods have been analyzed and shown in sequence from the simplest to the most complex, adaptive methods. The application of mobile agents for load balancing systems improvement has been investigated. Agents have been used as load carriers, as traders and... More negotiators that are trying to buy or to lend resources, or as connectors which link interested parties in process of load balancing. The model of extended utilization of mobile agents has been created upon the existing solutions and analysis of mobile agents characteristics. According to several possible scenarios agents can performs load balancing by themselves or they can just collect data for other agents. Furthermore, if necessary, agents can install required software on nodes and prepare them for participation in load sharing. The model of load balancing management using intelligent mobile agents utilizes intelligent agent which monitors performance of load balancing methods. Due to achieved performance in the learning phase, the agent selects the most appropriate method for current conditions. The model verification has been performed with simulator IUSTITIA that is implemented with JADE agent platform.
