Abstract

U ovom radu razvijen je model digitalnog sustava za mjerenje frekvencije i perioda te je napravljena njegova implementacija na Xilinx CoolRunner2 CPLD sklopu. Sustav ima mogućnost mjerenja frekvencije u području od 100 Hz do 10 MHz, te perioda u području od 0.1 s do 10 s. Nadalje, sustav samostalno odabire mjerenje frekvencije ili perioda, ovisno o frekvenciji ulaznog signala. Model sklopovlja razvijen je jeziku VHDL i optimiran je za implementaciju na CPLD sklopu CoolRunner2, ali ga je moguće jednostavno implementirati i na drugim programabilnim sklopovima.

Abstract (english)

In this thesis, a model of digital system for frequency and period measurement is developed and implemented on Xilinx CoolRunner2 CPLD device. The system supports measuring of period in the range from 0.1 s to 10 s and frequency in the range from 10 Hz to 10 MHz. It also supports automatic choice between measurement of frequency and period, depending on the frequency of the input signal. The model is developed in VHDL and it is optimized for implementation on CoolRunner2 CPLD. However, it can be easily implemented on various other programmable devices.
