Abstract

Rad razmatra interaktivno daljinsko učenje sa svim izazovima koje ono nameće, ulogom, prednostima, koristima i aplikativnim rješenjima. Srž prvog dijela rada predstavlja primjena interaktivnog daljinskog učenja na sveučilištima. Tu su navedene potrebe sveučilišta za daljinskim učenjem, zatim aplikativna i mrežna rješenja pogodna za primjenu na sveučilištima. Prikazana je nadalje ISDN mreža kao platforma za realizaciju IDL sustava, uz objašnjenje samog funkcioniranja ISDN-a. Razmotrena je prijenosna struktura ISDNa, te je posebna pozornost posvećena funkcioniranju ISDN slojeva. Nadalje su razmatrani videokonferencijski sustavi, u sklopu čega je objašnjeno uspostavljanje kontakta, audio i video podsustavi, i multipoint videokonferencija. Dat je kratak prikaz videokonferencijskih sustava baziranih na LAN mreži, uz mogućnost njihovog povezivanja sa sustavima koji se baziraju na ISDN-u. Na kraju su dati rezultati ispitivanja različitih videokonferencijskih sustava baziranih na ISDN-u, te razvojne faze IDL sustava BiH.

Abstract (english)

This paper deals with interactive distance learning, including all challenges it causes, its roll, advantages, benefits and application solutions. The first part of paper introduces the application of interactive distance learning on universities. It concerns distance learning universities’ needs, applications and network solutions appropriate for applying on universities. The paper also presents ISDN network as the platform for IDL systems, with explanation of ISDN functionality. The transport structure of ISDN is discussed, with special attention on ISDN layers function. The videoconferencing systems are discussed. Establishing contact, audio and video subsystems, and multipoint videoconferencing are explained. The short description of LAN-based videoconferencing systems is given, with ability of their connection with ISDN-based videoconferencing systems. Finally, the test results of several ISDN-based videoconferencing systems are shown, as well as evaluation phases of the IDL system in BiH.
