Abstract

U ovom završnom radu izvelo se proširenje skupa naredaba procesora FRISC sa SIMD naredbama. Proširenja su u potpunosti izvedena u opisnom jeziku VHDL i testirana na Xilinx-ovoj razvojnoj platformi PYNQ-Z1. Skup naredaba proširen je LOAD i STORE naredbama koje rade s 64 i 128-bitnim podacima i MOVE naredbama za sve kombinacije registara (32, 64 i 128-bitni). Osim dodanih SIMD naredbi za rukovanje podacima proširen je i skup registara sa 64-bitnim i 128-bitnim registrima, nadodana je SIMD aritmetičko-logička jedinica, dodane aritmetičko-logičke naredbe i nadograđen put podataka internom 128-bitnom sabirnicom. Nova verzija procesora kompatibilna je sa prijašnjim verzijama i moguće je koristiti procesor bez novih proširenja.

Abstract (english)

This study is about development of FRISC processor instruction set expansion with SIMD instructions. Expansions are written in description language VHDL and tested on Xilinx's board PYNQ-Z1. Instruction set is expanded with LOAD and STORE instructions that work with 64 and 128-bit data and MOVE instructions for all combinations of registers (32, 64 and 128-bit). Besides added SIMD instructions for data manipulation, register set is also enlarged with 64-bit and 128-bit registers, SIMD ALU is added and data path is upgraded with 128-bit bus. New version of processor is completely compatible with earlier versions and it is possible to use processor without new upgrades.
