Abstract

U samo nekoliko godina popularnost bežičnih LAN mreža je izrazito narasla. Razlog povećanju popularnosti je što omogućavaju mobilnost i veliku pokrivenost. Također, uz stalni razvoj tehnologije može se uočiti i promjena, odnosno odabir novih mobilnih aplikacija za razmjenu poruka, fotografija, poziva i videopoziva putem pametnih telefona. Jedna od takvih mobilnih aplikacija je i Whatsapp aplikacija koja je trenutno najkorištenija za gore opisanu primjenu. Korisniku se omogućava da unutar aplikacije Whatsapp pristupi kameri kao i foto galeriji što omogućava još jednostavniju razmjenu svih željenih sadržaja. Whatsapp koristi Protokol Signal koji pruža sigurnost i neporecivost sadržaja. Mreža se projektira mrežnom opremom: LAN-komutator i bežičnom pristupnom točkom. Analizom prometnih tokova Whatsapp aplikacije mrežnom administratoru olakšava projektiranje mreže. Za provedbu spomenute analize potrebno je koristiti tzv. analizatore paketa, poput alata wireshark i alata ntopng. Wireshark je jedan od najpopularnijih alata za analize prometnih tokova s instalacijskom podrškom za više operacijskih sustava. Alat ntopng je također alat za analizu prometnih tokova s dobrim korisničkim sučeljem i mogućnošću filtriranja prometa po pojedinim aplikacijama koje su ga uzrokovale.

Abstract (english)

In just a few years the popularity of wireless LAN networks has grown remarkably. The reason for increasing popularity is that it enables mobility and great coverage. Also, with the constant development of technology, it is also possible to notice changes or selections of new mobile applications for messaging, exchanging photos, calls and video calls via smartphones. One of these mobile applications is the Whatsapp application that is currently used for the above mentioned usages. The user is allowed to access the camera as well as the photo gallery inside the application, enabling even easier sharing of all desired content. Whatsapp uses Signal Protocol that provides security and irrevocability of content. The local area network is designed with network equipments: a LAN switch and a wireless access point. Traffic flow analysis of Whatsapp app make it easy for network administrator to design a network. For the implementation of the said analysis, it is necessary to use the so-called packet analyzer, such as wireshark tool and ntopng tool. Wireshark is one of the most popular traffic flow analysis tools with installation support for multiple operating systems. ntopng is also a tool for analyzing traffic flows with a good user interface and the ability to filter traffic by the particular applications that caused it.
