Abstract

Povećanje uporabe mobilnih uređaja rezultiralo je gorljivom potražnjom za bežičnim mrežama. Bežične lokalne mreže su računalne mreže u kojima se komunikacija između računala odvija bez žice, putem radijskih valova. WLAN mreža je prostorno ograničena. Domet WLAN-a je 30-50 metara u zatvorenom prostoru i 150-200 metara na otvorenom. Sigurnost bežičnih mreža je ugroženija od onih u kojima se podatci prenose putem žice. Za potpunu zaštitu bežičnih mreža koriste se protokoli WEP (eng. Wirless Equivalent Privacy), WPA (eng. Wi-Fi Protected Access) i WPA2 (eng. Wi-Fi Protected Access II). Zadatak ovog rada je ispitivanja parametara WLAN pojačivača za kućnu upotrebu. Mjerenja u različitim okruženjima su pokazala da pojačivač u osnovi ne pojačava WLAN signal već mu samo povećava domet.

Abstract (english)

Increasing the use of mobile devices gave the result of a significant increase in demand of wireless networks. Local Wireless networks are computer networks that allow wireless communication between computers through radio waves. WLAN networks are spatially limited. The WLAN range is 30-50 meters in a closed area (indoors) and 150-200 meters in an open area (outdoors). The vulnerability of the wireless networks' security is increased in comparison to those in which information is transmitted by wire. For complete wireless network protection the protocol WEP (Wireless Equivalent Privacy), WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access), and WPA2 (Wi-Fi Protected Access II) is used. The goal of this paper is to test the WLAN amplifier's parameters for home-use. Measurements in different environments have indicated that the booster does not strengthen the WLAN signal but increases it's range.
