Abstract
Performanse TCP/IP protokola putem WLAN-a su daleko od zadovoljavajućih zbog svoje relativno visoke stope pogreške. TCP propusnost se drastično smanjuje čak i za male stope pogreški zbog pretpostavke da su gubici uzrokovani zagušenjem koje dovodi do drastičnog smanjenja brzine transmisije nakon bežičnih gubitaka. Ti problemi su izraženiji pri većim brzinama bežičnih veza i dulje kraj-na-kraj (engl. end-to-end) staze. Postoje razne sheme poboljšanja kako bi se TCP bolje opravio od bežičnih gubitaka.
Abstract (english)
The performance of the TCP/IP protocol suite over Wireless Local Area Network systems is far satisfactory because of its relatively high error rates. TCP throughput decreases dramatically even at modest error rates because of its assumption that all losses are caused by congestion that leads to drastic reduction of its transmission rate after wireless losses. These performance problems are more pronounced with higher speed wireless links and longer end-to-end paths. There exist a wide veriety of performance enhancement schemas that either modify TCP to recover better from wireless losses or provide link-layer error recovery to hide these losses from TCP.
