Abstract

Rijetke bolesti, poput Gaucherove bolesti, pogađaju do 5 osoba na 10.000 ljudi i često su opasne po život. Njihovo dijagnosticiranje traje prosječno 5 godina što uvelike smanjuje šansu za uspješno liječenje. U Hrvatskoj je Gaucherova bolest dijagnosticirana u samo 34 % slučajeva. Rzlog tome su nedostatka znanja i stručnjaka vezanih za ovu bolest te visoka cijena potrebnih pretraga. U sklopu ovog rada razvjen je algoritam koji, na temelju raznih podataka o pacijentu, pomaže lječnicima brže uspostaviti ispravnu dijagnozu. Ovime se povečavaju šanse za pravovremeni početak lječenja što će poboljšati kvalitetu života oboljelih i unaprijediti digitalizaciju zdravstva u Hrvatskoj.

Abstract (english)

Rare diseases, such as Gaucher disease, affect up to 5 in 10 000 people and are often life-threatening. Their diagnosis takes an average of 5 years, which greatly reduces the chance of successful treatment. In Croatia, Gaucher's disease is diagnosed in only 34% of expected cases. The reason for this is the lack of knowledge and experts related to this disease and the high cost of the tests needed establish the diagnosis. As part of this work, an algorithm was developed that, based on various patient data, helps doctors establish the correct diagnosis more quickly. This increases the chances for a timely start of treatment, which will improve the quality of life of patients and advance the digitization of health care in Croatia.
