Abstract

Cilj ovog rada je analizirati kako pojava deepfake tehnologije utječe na sigurnost biometrijske autentikacije te kakvi rizici se javljaju njome. U radu se opisuju deepfake-ovi, njihova povijest, kako se generiraju, uporaba te rizici koji se javljaju njima. Također se obrađuje biometrijska autentikacija, analizira tehnologija te kakvi se rizici javljaju kod nje zbog deepfake tehnologije. Opisani su i prošli napadi pomoću deepfake tehnologije kako bi ilustrirali važnost zaštite od istih. Nadalje, analiziraju se općenite metode zaštite kod biometrijske autentikacije koje djelomično štite i od deepfake napada te se obrađuju neki načini detekcije deepfake-ova koji bi se potencijalno mogli koristiti kod zaštite biometrijske autentikacije.

Abstract (english)

The goal of this paper is to analyze how the emergence of deepfake technology affects the security of biometric authentication and what risks it presents. The paper describes deepfakes, their history, how they are generated, their use and the risks they pose. Biometric authentication is also analyzed, its technology and what risks arise with the emergence of deepfakes. Past attacks using deepfake technology are also described to illustrate the importance of making biometric authentication more secure against them. Furthermore, general security methods and measures for biometric authentication are analyzed, which partially protect against deepfake attacks. Some methods of deepfake detection that could potentially be used for biometric authentication protection are also described.
