Abstract

Kvantno računarstvo otvara mogućnost drugačijeg načina razmišljanja i oblikovanja algoritama koje nam omogućuje pristup i rješavanje većeg skupa problema. U radu su opisani neki od bitnijih kvantnih algoritama današnjice kao i mehanizmi koji se koriste u njima. Opisani algoritmi uključuju algoritam kvantne procjene faze i kvantni algoritam pretraživanja koji se koriste kao podrutine u drugim opisanim algoritmima koji su redom algoritam kvantnog brojanja, algoritam pretraživanja kvantnom slučajnom šetnjom te algoritam HHL. Također su opisana i tri varijacijska kvantna algoritma: algoritam kvantne optimizacije (QAOA), algoritam za procjenu energije osnovnog stanja (VQE) te kvantni klasifikator (VQC) koji spadaju u skupinu kvantnih heurističkih algoritama namjenjenih za izvođenje na NISQ računalima. Rad također uključuje i programska ostvarenja navedenih algoritama u programskom jeziku Python koristeći slobodnu dostupnu knjižnicu programa Qiskit.

Abstract (english)

Quantum computing allows for a different way of thinking and designing algorithms, enabling us to approach and solve a larger set of problems. This thesis goes over some of the more important quantum algorithms of today, as well as their underlying mechanisms. The described algorithms include the quantum phase estimation algorithm and the quantum search algorithm which are used as subroutines in other described algorithms, namely the quantum counting algorithm, the quantum walk search algorithm and the HHL algorithm. Also described are three variational quantum algorithms: quantum approximate optimization algorithm (QAOA), variational quantum eigensolver (VQE) and variational quantum classifier (VQC), which are categorized as quantum heuristic algorithms intended for execution on NISQ computers. This thesis also covers the implementations of said algorithms in the Python programming language using the open-source software development kit Qiskit.
