Abstract

Ovim završnim radom predstavljene su osnovne uloge, primjene i funkcionalnosti te kratka povijest razvoja tehnologije proširene stvarnosti. Opisana je i jedna primjena takve tehnologije u obliku razvoja aplikacije FERNav.
Aplikacija FERNav stvorena je kako bi ljudima koji nisu upoznati sa lokacijama pojedinih prostorija na FER-u omogućila što jednostavniji pronalazak istih. Kreirana je u Unity razvojnom okruženju korištenjem pomoćnih tehnologija Vuforia te ARCore i AR Foundation, za korištenje na pametnim telefonima operacijskog sustava Android. Aplikacija je prototipna što znači da ima identificirane nedostatke te su tokom razvoja bili potrebni kompromisi za upravljanje dostupnim tehnologijama i znanjem. Nedostatci aplikacije su istaknuti te su predložene daljnje opcije za razvoj. Unatoč tome, aplikacija je dobar primjer mogućnosti koje nam pruža tehnologija proširene stvarnosti.

Abstract (english)

This bachelor’s thesis presents the basic roles, uses and functionalities, as well as a brief history of the development of augmented reality. One application of such technology is described in the form of the development of the FERNav application.
The FERNav application was developed to enable people not familiar with the locations of specific rooms at FER to find them as easily as possible. It was developed in Unity using auxiliary technologies Vuforia and ARCore with AR Foundation for use on smartphones with the Android operating system. The application is a prototype which suggests that it has certain identified shortcomings and, during development, compromises were necessary to manage the available knowledge and technologies. The shortcomings of the application are adequately highlighted and options for further improvement and development are proposed. Nevertheless, the application makes a good example out of the possibilities offered by the technology of augmented reality.
