Abstract

U ovom radu istaknute su prednosti koje se ostvaruju primjenom funkcije izolacije SMS-a u STP-u. Zadaća funkcije je odgovoriti na sigurnosne probleme nastale zlouporabom signalizacijskog prometa na primjeru SMS-a. Opisane su glavne značajke funkcije kada se konfigurira u STP-u: prepoznavanje korisničke informacije u porukama SCCP-a (naglasak na SMS), izolacija prepoznatog prometa od ostalih vrsta prometa, preusmjeravanje odabranog prometa prema posebnim sigurnosnim čvorovima (za zaštitu od neželjenog SMS-a, imitacijskog SMS-a itd.) i mogućnost trenutne eliminacije izoliranog prometa. Pokazano je na koji se način funkcija primjenjuje u određenim slučajevima zlouporabe SMS-a, kao što su imitacijski SMS, lažni SMS i neželjeni SMS. Također je pokazano da funkcija izolacije SMS-a može ublažiti negativne posljedice nastale zlouporabom prometa SMS-a, i da je na taj način postignuto povećanje sigurnosti mobilnih mreža.

Abstract (english)

In this master thesis it is presented the benefit of having SMS isolation function in STP in order to confront the security problems related to misuse of SMS traffic. Main features of SMS isolation functionality when deployed in STP are described: identification of SCCP user traffic (SMS particularly), isolation from other types of signaling traffic, rerouting of selected traffic toward specialized secure nodes (anti-spam, anti-spoof etc.) and possibility to discard isolated traffic immediately. There is shown how this functionality addresses certain SMS fraud cases, such as SMS spoofing, SMS faking or SMS spamming. It was also shown that SMS isolation function can mitigate negative effects caused by misuse of SMS traffic, and that improvement in security of mobile network is achieved.
