Abstract

Koncept postuugljičnog grada budućnosti predstavlja prekid trenutne ugljične ovisnosti koja je dovela do visoke razine emisija stakleničkih plinova i nepovoljnih klimatskih promjena. Na temelju analize četiri grada sudionika EU projekta Pocacito uočene su slične aktivnosti gradskih uprava. Uvođenje obveznih certifikata energetske učinkovitosti, poboljšanje vodoopskrbne mreže s ciljem smanjenja gubitaka vode, poticanje svijesti o održivim načinima transporta i poticanje recikliranja samo su neki načini pomoću kojih grad napreduje prema postugljičnom gradu budućnosti. Grad koji ima za cilj smanjenje emisija obvezno treba uvesti sustav praćenja smanjenja emisija i pratiti vlastitu potrošnju energije po sektorima te na temelju rezultata djelovati.

Abstract (english)

The concept of „post-carbon cities“ signifies a rupture in the carbon-dependent urban system, which has lead to high levels of antropogenic greenhouse gases and adverse climatic changes. The introduction of mandatory certification of energy efficiency, improving the water supply network to reduce water losses, raising awareness of sustainable modes of transport and encourage recycling are just a few ways each city can progress towards a post-carbon city of future. To become a post-carbon city, cities should define their own targets related to CO2 emissions and put them in place. It's also important to introduce a monitoring system for emissions reductions.
