Abstract

Skladište podataka je jedinstven, kompletan i dosljedan repozitorij podataka pribavljen iz raznih izvora i predstavljen krajnjem korisniku na razumljiv način. Podaci se prikupljaju, transformiraju i integriraju u skladište podataka pomoću ETL procesa. Različiti izvori opisuju podatke na različit način i tako unose problem heterogenosti. Tehnologije semantičkog weba olakšavaju integraciju heterogenih izvora podataka tako što podacima daju semantičko značenje te omogućavaju opisivanje značajnih semantičkih odnosa između različitih izvora. U ovom radu opisan je pristup integraciji podataka pomoću ontologija i tehnologija semantičkog weba te su definirane ETL procedure pomoću kojih se podaci unose u zajedničko skladište podataka.

Abstract (english)

Data warehouse is a unique, complete and consistent repository of data gathered from one or more different sources which is presented to the final user in a very comprehensible way. Data are gathered, transformed and are integrated to the data warehouse through a process called ETL. Different data sources describe the same data in a different way bringing out the problem of semantic heterogeneity. The semantic web technologies make data integration easier by giving them semantic meaning and by providing capability to focus on meaningful semantic relationships between different data sources. In this thesis it is described the approach to data integration using ontologies and semantic web technologies, furthermore, ETL procedures are defined here which are used to load data into the integrated data warehouse.
